Claire is based in Tucson, Arizona, where she serves as Jewelry & Metalsmithing faculty at Pima Community College following three years as Visiting Artist Assistant Professor of Jewelry & Metalsmithing at the University of Oregon. She earned an MFA from The State University of New York at New Paltz in 2021.

Claire’s current research explores unexpected material manipulations and juxtapositions to examine relationships between human inquiry, wonder, and our fundamental needs and desires.

Drawing from a shared visual and tactile imagination shaped by elemental forms and substances, her work often utilizes or references stone, shell, wood, and earth. Through contrasts between order and randomness, familiar materials are transformed into enigmatic forms that activate curiosity and invite contemplation.

Through these investigations, concrete reference and reverie are synthesized, exaggerated, undermined, elevated, and reinterpreted to create poetic and transporting moments.

Claire’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at institutions including New York City Jewelry Week, Munich Jewelry Week, Baltimore Jewelry Center, Brooklyn Metal Works, Urban Glass, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and Galerie Lewis in Quebec.
