Ashley Pollack and Claire Webb create very different work, and yet their shared interest in combining and transforming materials into forms that inspire wonder and curiosity make them uniquely compatible.
A Curious Composite presented a variety of new and collaborative works that overturn expectations and inspire enchantment. In addition, both artists passionately reject binary ways of thinking that limit potential audiences, such as art vs. craft, studio practice vs. commercial business, and art jewelry vs. fine jewelry. This exhibition included works ranging from affordable, wearable jewelry to conceptual and statement jewelry as well as sculptural works of art.
